Mod Barista leaned back, her lips curving around the marker’s cap as she got down on one knee, holding the paper directly underneath where the plate of fudge was set, holding the marred paper in place as Mod Barista carefully pressed the long strip of scotch tape across the piece of paper. The piece of paper was slapped down on the service counter as, soon, words were scrawled down on to the paper in black. Smiling to herself, she ripped off a slip of paper from the notepad, ripped off some tape, and uncapped the black marker, holding the marker’s cap between her teeth as she approached the plate of fudge. Frowning, the barista looked around while fishing into the right-hand pocket of her apron, removing a black marker, her notepad, and a small roll of tape. and ordinary could be overrated at times. The plate of fudge looked decadent, but also. The plate of fudge was placed on the service counter as Mod Barista stepped back a bit to observe her work, cradling her chin in her knuckles as she pursed her lips, clicking her tongue. The door to the prep area slid shut as the barista/manager waded around the service counter, the upbeat song still softly blaring out from the headphones that swayed side to side as she walked. Mod Barista continued to smile as she picked up the plate of fudge, carrying it to the prep area’s door as she bumped it open with her hip. Finally, with a small smile, the last cube of fudge was placed on the plate, the tray and the knife were placed into the sink to be washed later. Hums continued to be heard from the café’s prep area, filtering out through the door that was left ajar. The barista/manager of the quaint café continued to tap her foot, continued to hum along with the song that softly blared out from the headphones as she continued to slid the knife through the fudge, dividing it into even squares and placing them on to a large plate. Mod Barista tapped the heel of her foot to the beat of an upbeat tune that played through the headphones hanging out from the front pocket of her barista apron, humming along whenever it suited her as she slid a knife through the tray of fudge that lay in front of her. >.> (even if Atlus tries to fix it now, without showing actual development I’ll just assume it’s a really shitty retcon but what’s done is done atlus, you get one first impression and Mako did not leave me with any comfort) This esp made it worse cause I used to be like “well at least she can handle shadows” but now if the dungeon or enemy is horror themed I can’t even believe she’ll even be able to handle shadows. Atlus has the perfect fine line of her being damsel and her having all bark and no bite to trick us into thinking she has a spine and isn’t really a damsel (she is, the amount of times she needs you to step in or be saved, god Mementos mission really nailed P5 in this case >.>). Like even Chie/Yukari/Mitsuru/Naoto sucked it the hell up and made it through the damn dungeon, but Makoto? I don’t trust her.

Atlus says the reason a horror movie wasn’t in PQ2 cause of being too good at it in PQ1, but really it’s cause Makoto wouldn’t have been useful AT ALL the entire time. But no she’ll still be sniveling little shit who’ll get on her high horse the second she can. This isn’t outside the metaverse like with Sojiro, we are in the metavese, we need to be on guard all the time. When I saw Mako clinging to MC (in the trailer iirc?) it solidified to me that she really can’t be relied on.
